Review

Marvel Unlimited is a digital comics platform that has been around since the early days of the Marvel Universe. Back in it's day, it was a fantastic alternative to buying physical comics, but now with the rise of digital comics, it's a shadow of it's former self. The service is still fairly cheap at $9.99 a month, but the selection is limited to only the back issues, meaning you have to find your favorite comics in the archives.

There are also the most recent issues, but they are mixed with the back issues from the app.

Features

In this app, you can enjoy a lot of features like:

New Comic Day Experience:

For those who love to read new comics, this feature will help you to read new comics every day.

Multiverse Mode:

If you are a fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe, this feature will make you more interested in the comics.

Comic Book Locator:

Through this app you can find your favorite comics. It will help you to read comics in the most convenient way.

Design

The app is designed in a way that it feels like a comic book. There are two pages for every title, and the pages are organized in a way that it feels like a real book. The app is designed to be used with the touch of a finger. Making it easy to swipe through the pages.

Usability

The usability of Marvel Unlimited is a bit of a mixed bag. It is totally usable on a tablet and a desktop. It is usable on a smartphone, but a little clunky. There are a few usability issues on a tablet, but not enough to matter much. However, on a smartphone, the usability issues add up and make using the app a chore.

Conclusion

Overall, Marvel Unlimited is a nice app. It is well designed and is filled with a lot of comics, but it is lacking in usability issues. I would recommend Marvel Unlimited to comic book readers looking to expand their collection, but I would not recommend it to someone looking for a way to read their favorite comics.

Pros:
  • A good way to read back issues of all your favorite Marvel Comics
  • The app has a "read later" feature, which is great for those of us who like to read in the bathroom
  • The app is easy to use and much more intuitive than the website
  • Marvel Unlimited offers some cool exclusive content that you can't get anywhere else.
Cons:
  • Marvel Unlimited app is only available for Android and iOS users
  • The app is only available in the US
  • Marvel Unlimited content is a little slow to update.
